Crafty Little Christmas

If you’re like me, you’re a little behind the eight ball this year with getting ready for the yule tide season. The good part is, I’ve found some great last minute deals. The bad part is, there’s not much left to choose from. So, this left me in a conundrum on what to buy to make my house a little extra festive this year for the Holiday. After some back and forth, I decided to make my own decorations! Here is a piece I put together last minute to bring some warm Holiday cheer into my home!

  • I used a decorative bird cage I already had
  • Purchased a few pieces in the floral department of At Home
  • Bought some cinnamon scented pine cones
  • Got 1 box of white Christmas lights

Next, all I did was start placing the lights along the bottom of the cage and leave a strand out along the back to allow me to plug it in.

Then I began to add the pine cones and floral pieces. Think of stacking them as building blocks, but each row is your own imaginations creation. I cut the floral pieces to my liking to make them work where I needed them too. I filled the cage up as much as I wanted and until the light strand ended.

Now here is the finished product!

What I like the most about this project is the fact I can continue to change it out with each holiday and/ or season if I want! The aroma from the scented pine cones are my personal favorite and my husband even complimented my masterpiece! I spent about $20 on the lights and floral pieces and it took me about 15 minutes to put together.

Have you made your own Christmas decorations this year? If so, please share!
