Tuna Tartare Recipe

It’s that time of year where everyone starts getting together for the holidays. I like to make fun finger foods to serve guests, so here is a quick and easy Tuna Tartare recipe I put together for you to serve at your next get together or to just enjoy yourself at home. This one will certainly “wow” and be a crowd favorite!

What you’ll need:

  • ½ pound of raw tuna
  • Olive Oil
  • Less Sodium Soy Sauce
  • Rice Vinegar
  • Lime Juice
  • Franks Red Hot Sauce
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Ground Pepper
  • Salt
  • Scallions
  • 1 Avocado

Time to wash and prep:

  • Slice the tuna into small pieces
  • Chop scallions to fill ¼ cup
  • Slice avocado in ½ and cut into small pieces (TIP: if not using entire avocado, keep pit in the other half to help it keep longer.)

In a bowl, mix these together to make a “sauce” mixture:

  • 3 tbsp of Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • ½ tsp of Rice Vinegar
  • 1/3 cup of Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Franks Red Hot Sauce
  • 5 splashes of Worcestershire Sauce
  • Add desired amount of Ground Pepper and just a dash of salt

Now, add the tuna, scallions and avocado to your “sauce”. Gently stir items together. Garnish with sesame seeds if desire.  Let chill and marinate in the fridge for 45 minutes to an hour before serving to give it optimal flavor. Serve on your choice of crackers or let guests use crackers to dip into the tuna tartare.
